Sendero releases second free patch upgrade for Sendero Maps 2011

Changes from Sendero Maps Version 2011 to Version 2011.2

November 2, 2011

  1. Added a visual map with low vision features to the primary software screen including the ability to zoom in and out of the map. The text descriptions of your current location are still available.
  2. A visual Settings dialog makes it possible to adjust the default visual options of the graphical maps in the Visual Options item under the Tools Menu.
    • Customizable font and font size up to 36 point
    • Customizable road thicknesses
    • Dark foreground on light background or light foreground on dark background
    • Size of current position icon from 1/4 inch to over 2 inches
    • Customizable colors for current position, route waypoints, destination, one ways, overpasses, and foreground and background colors.
  3. Creating Manual Routes by virtually exploring the map. With this feature it is now possible to create a manual route just by exploring around the map.
  4. Standardized printing functions
  5. Print and copy to clipboard added to Route Descriptions, POI lists and POI details.
  6. When copying your Latitude and Longitude (from the Locations menu) to your clipboard, you can paste this location into maps.google.com and be taken directly to where you are in the program. The Latitude is first, followed by the longitude.

Changes from Sendero Maps Version 2010.2 to Version 2011

  1. New 2011 Maps and POIs
  2. Side of Street tracking with cross street functionality.
  3. Addition of freeway exit numbers and which city the freeway is heading towards: for intersections, lookaround intersections and route following. Example: "ramp to CA-85 SB. Exit 1A, towards Gilroy".
  4. Ability to describe any intersection with the "annotate intersection" feature.
  5. New Map installer that will unzip maps you have downloaded into your maps folder.
  6. Automatic New Version Notification as well as Check for Updates from the menu.
  7. JAWS for WindowsT, Window-EyesT, System AccessT, HalT/SuperNova API, and NVDA screen readers are supported.

Sendero Maps 2010.2 - August 26, 2010

Changes from Sendero Maps Version 2010.1 to Version 2010.2
  1. Upgraded to latest SQLite Engine (3.7.0.1) for address and POI lookups.
  2. Upgraded to latest Richmap Engine (4.5.1) for map access and route creation.
  3. When loading a previous route the odometer is now reset to 0.

It is strongly recommended that you upgrade to the latest version 2010.2 for compatibility reason between Sendero Maps and Sendero GPS on the various flavors of PDA's. To get the new version of Sendero Maps, log into your MySendero account and download the new software.


Sendero Maps 2010.1 released July 22, 2010

Thanks to invaluable customer feedback, we are able to release this patch that increases program stability. The main changes with this patch include:

  • New install and program file locations - changed to follow standard Windows conventions.
  • Route Settings and Options have been improved to ensure Sendero Maps creates the route that you want
  • Screen Reader inconsistencies resolved - now you won't miss an announcement or detail.

To get the new version of Sendero Maps, log into your MySendero account and download the new software. First, you will need to uninstall the existing software using the Windows Control panel, then install the new version. You will need to copy your Maps, Routes and Settings folder contents over into their respective folders in the new location of "Documents/SenderoMaps/"

Detailed Changes

  • Main program default install location changed from C:\SenderoMaps to Program Files\Sendero Group LLC\SenderoMaps
  • Maps, Routes and Settings are now saved under the users "Documents" directory in the subfolder SenderoMaps.
  • Resolved Route Show Details not displaying on certain systems.
  • Vehicle routes were always being created the same even when route options were changed.
  • Changing the route settings with a route open will now prompt to recreate the route with the new settings.
  • Resolved settings not being saved on certain systems.
  • Resolved Screen Reader issues on initial startup.
  • Resolved issues on some machines where not all English strings were being loaded correctly.
  • Recalculating a route when at destination will recreate the entire route.

Sendero Maps Version 2010 - Initial release

Sendero Group expands the power of accessible location information to the Windows PC with Sendero Maps. Sendero Maps allows the user to have fun exploring his or her environment and to develop location literacy in the process. Sendero Maps can be used by itself on the PC or as a partner product to the five other Sendero GPS products.

With an intuitive user interface and the power of the PC, accessible maps are at your fingertips. Just type a destination, select a route and you are on your way. Sendero Maps for the PC enables you to:

  • Explore rural roads or city streets, intersection-by-intersection.
  • Record personal Points of Interest and add rich audio content like restaurant menus or museum descriptions.
  • Hear your direction of travel. Check the odometer for distance traveled.
  • Search a 15 million Points Of Interest database in North America for everything from airports to zoos and choose one as your destination.
  • Create and follow a route to that destination.
  • Easily save and print or emboss routes to take with you or to share.
  • Create longer more complex routes on the PC and then transfer them to your Sendero GPS 2010 product.
